David Yurman launches limited-edition bracelet with Shawn Mendes

American luxury jewelry brand David Yurman announced on Tuesday the launch of a limited-edition Woven Hemp Bracelet designed in collaboration with Shawn Mendes. 

The partnership will support the brand’s 2023 ambassador and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter’s charitable organization – The Shawn Mendes Foundation – with 20% of the purchase price going to support the initiative.

The Foundation’s ongoing mission is to provide resources and support to young leaders driving positive chance and will allow David Yurman to surpass the $1.5 million it raised from charitable initiatives in 2022.

“The Shawn Mendes Foundation’s mission is to help recognize and amplify talented young changemakers,” explained Mendes. “We started SMF in 2019 to support young activists with resources and education. I’m incredibly passionate about the work we’re doing, and I’m excited to continue supporting and sharing the stories of these incredible young people through this partnership.”

As part of the collaboration, Mendes worked closely with the David Yurman design team to ensure the product had a low environmental impact. In particular, the bracelet was created from materials derived from stalks of Cannabis Sativa, which requires little water and no synthetic fertilizer to grow. Hemp is equally carbon negative, absorbing more carbon than it releases, further ensuring the limited-edition bracelet’s sustainability. 

“I think one of the things we, as individuals, can do to support sustainability efforts is do our best to pay attention to where things are sourced,” added Mendes.

Earlier this year, David Yurman announced a new roster of 2023 brand ambassadors. Mendes is joined by the likes of supermodel Taylor Hill; actor and producer Aldis Hodge; New York Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor; Olympic gold medalist, hurdler and sprinter Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone; and model James Turlington.
